Craig Cardiff at the Marble Arts Centre

Craig Cardiff at the Marble Arts Centre

Date:April 18, 2021
Time:7:00pm - 10:00pm
Location:Marble Arts Centre
The Tweed & Area Arts Council is proud to present Arnprior, Ontario-based singer-songwriter Craig Cardiff. He is known all across Canada, and is developing a following throughout North America and into Europe. Guitar in hand, Craig can turn any setting into an intimate affair, infusing his music and lyrics with an uncompromising humanism rarely seen in today’s production-heavy climate. A modern troubadour, Craig Cardiff builds landscapes of sound using live digital loops, bringing the room to a hush. Edged, folk, beautiful, and melancholy, one song breaks your heart, and the next one puts it back together. For the past six years, Craig Cardiff has been passing around a Book of Truths during his shows and asking his fans to share something truthful in it — a story, a confession, a hope, a secret. The book gives fans a chance to write down something they might be too afraid to say out loud, and it gives Cardiff an opportunity to connect with the people who come to his shows. Those entries aren’t always easy to read. The stories can be heartbreaking, and they can leave Cardiff wanting to do something, to find the person who wrote in his book and tell them to hold on for tomorrow, that things will be OK. Craig makes it a point to keep the relationship with his fans personal, inviting and accepting any opportunity to make his audience as much a part of the performance as he is. Don’t be surprised if one day you find yourself enjoying one of Craig’s renowned performances from the comfort of your own living room. Catch Craig out on the road! The Marble Arts Centre is an accessible, licenced venue with comfortable theatre seating that hosts many performances each year in an historic hall with wonderful acoustics. Doors open at 6:30, show is at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance - $25 at the door.
