Hastings County Partners With Prince Edward County on Healthcare Survey

Hastings County is partnering with Prince Edward County’s Healthcare Services Working Group on the launch of a public survey about the use and availability of healthcare providers in Rural Hastings and Prince Edward Counties. The focus of the survey covers a broad range of healthcare providers and services and their availability to residents in our rural areas. The survey is anonymous and open to any resident of Rural Hastings County (all municipalities of Hastings County except the cities of Belleville and Quinte West) and Prince Edward County. The survey is also open to non-residents who are caregivers to residents of Rural Hastings or Prince Edward Counties. The survey is available online until February 28, 2022 at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HealthcareSurveyHPE.
QUOTES
“The Healthcare Survey is going to help to better understand the availability of family doctors and other healthcare services in our area and help identify any gaps that exist for our residents,” stated Warden Rick Phillips. “With the new Hastings-Prince Edward Ontario Health Team announcement, we felt that this was an ideal time for our Counties to gather information that will help in the design and development of an integrated and coordinated system that meets all of our residents’ needs.”
BACKGROUND
The new Hastings-Prince Edward Family Health Team was announced on September 17, 2021, in Tweed by Minister of Health, Christine Elliott. The Team is one of 8 new Ontario Health Teams designed to remove barriers across healthcare providers, physicians, and community organizations across both counties.
This will be a multi-year development and transformation as organizational frameworks are set up and put in place to allow for a more comprehensive and collaborative, patient-centred system.
