2026 Voters' Guide
Municipal Elections in Ontario are governed by the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (MEA). For general information about voting in municipal elections, we recommend consulting the Ministry of Municipal Affairs' and Housing’s 2026 Voters’ Guide – Ontario municipal council and school board elections(link is external) which was created to provide voters with information in plain language concerning the rules and constraints of the MEA and other legislation and regulations.
