Significant Weather Alert: Notice to Residents
Wednesday, February 12th, 2025
Heavy snow and ice pellets are expected for the Municipality of Tweed, beginning this evening.
In light of Environment Canada's Winter Storm Warning, we are officially declaring a significant weather event within our municipality, aligning with Ontario's Minimum Maintenance Standards Regulation 239/02.
During this weather event, we strongly urge motorists, pedestrians, and residents to exercise heightened caution. Our municipality may encounter challenges in meeting the usual maintenance standards for roads and sidewalks.
This declaration does not alter the timing or procedures of our winter maintenance operations. However, please be prepared for potential delays in restoring roads and sidewalks to their normal conditions.
The safety of the public remains our top priority. Updates regarding the conclusion of this significant weather event will be provided as needed.
