As storm season ramps up in Ontario, we are closely monitoring the threat of severe weather expected on Monday and Tuesday. To ensure your safety and preparedness, we urge all residents to be mindful and take the necessary steps to prepare a 72-hour emergency kit.
What to Include in Your 72-Hour Kit:
Water: At least 3 liters per person per day.
Food: Non-perishable items such as canned goods, granola bars, and dried fruit.
First Aid Kit: Include bandages, antiseptic wipes, and any necessary medications.
Flashlight and Batteries: Ensure you have extra batteries.
Radio: A battery-powered or hand-crank radio to stay informed.
Personal Items: Include important documents, cash, and any personal items you may need.
Clothing: Warm clothing, rain gear, and sturdy shoes.
Tools: Multi-purpose tools, duct tape, and plastic sheeting.
Sanitation Supplies: Hand sanitizer, moist towelettes, and garbage bags.
Additional Tips:
Keep your cell phone charged and have a backup power source.
Secure outdoor items that could become projectiles in high winds.
Stay informed by monitoring local weather reports and alerts.
