January 9, 2024 - Important Notice to Residents and Visitors:

Following a thorough review of weather forecasts and in response to Environment Canada's weather warnings, we are officially declaring a significant weather event in our municipality, in accordance with Ontario's Minimum Maintenance Standards Regulation 239/02.

Due to deteriorating weather conditions the Tweed Arena, Tweed Public Library and the Municipal office will be closed for the remainder of the day, January 9, 2024

Throughout this weather event, we strongly advise motorists, pedestrians, and residents to exercise heightened caution. Due to the anticipated heavy snowfall, the municipality may face challenges in meeting its usual maintenance standards for roads and sidewalks.

This declaration will not alter the timing or procedures of our winter maintenance operations. However, please anticipate potential delays in restoring roads and sidewalks to their normal conditions.

The safety of the public remains our utmost priority. Updates regarding the conclusion of this significant weather event will be provided accordingly.
