Municipal Service Update

Media Release – April 19, 2021

Tweed COVID-19

Tweed, ON – The Municipality of Tweed wishes to release the following information to the community with regards to the Province of Ontario’s Stay-at-Home order and enhanced public health measures to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Administrative Office

The office will be closed to the public during the Stay-at-Home order.  Services that are immediate in nature and cannot be done virtually are by appointment only. 

We are still available by phone during regular business hours (613-478-2535), by e-mail (info@tweed.ca), by mail (255 Metcalf St., Postal Bag 729, Tweed, ON   K0K 3J0), by fax (613-478-6457), or the drop box next to the front door of the administration office. You can also make payments online at your bank for property taxes and for water and sewer billings. We also now accept e-transfers to info@tweed.ca. If you use the e-transfer, you must put in the comment box your roll number, account number or a description of what the funds are for if other than taxes or water and sewer billings.

All Council Meetings will be held virtually. For information on how to watch the Zoom meeting, please go to our website (www.tweed.ca/meetingsc10), or you can watch them on Facebook live.

Parks and Recreation

The following indoor recreation facilities are closed:

  • Tweed Hungerford Community Centre
  • Andy Brown Memorial Centre
  • Stoco Recreation Centre.

The following outdoor recreation amenities are closed:

  • Baseball diamonds
  • Soccer Fields
  • Basketball Court
  • Volleyball Court
  • Outdoor Fitness Equipment
  • Picnic sites and picnic tables

Playgrounds, play structures and equipment remain open.  Both Municipality of Tweed public boat launches remain open. 

Waste Site and Recycling Centre

The Municipality of Tweed Waste Site and Recycling Centre will operate with regular summer hours as follows:

October 1st to April 30th:
Tuesday............9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday.......1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday ...........9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

May 1st to September 30th:
Tuesday............9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday.......1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Saturday............9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.


During this time, masks must be worn and only two vehicles are permitted in the recycling centre at a time.  The Waste Site now is accepting debit payments, we encourage residents to use this as their method of payment.
