Tweed, ON – June 18, 2025 – The Municipality of Tweed is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $10,000 grant from Hydro One as part of the Ice Storm 2025: Recovery Grant. This generous grant will be used to purchase essential equipment, including safety equipment, pole saws, and other tools necessary for clean-up efforts and future weather events.
The Ice Storm of April 2025 caused significant damage to our community, impacting homes, businesses, and infrastructure. The Hydro One grant will play a crucial role in our recovery efforts, ensuring that we have the necessary resources to rebuild and prepare for any future challenges.
Mayor DeGenova expressed gratitude for the support, stating, "We are deeply appreciative of Hydro One's commitment to helping communities like ours recover from devastating weather events. This grant will not only aid in our current clean-up efforts but also enhance our preparedness for future emergencies."
