The Municipality of Tweed invites visitors and residents to come out and celebrate Canada Day 2013.

Kicking things off at 12:30 PM will be the annual parade down Victoria Street to Memorial Park.  Lining the streets in red and white colours to showcase national pride is a time honored tradition in the Municipality, and this year proves to be a bigger celebration, with many events in the park all afternoon.

At 1 PM the Opening Ceremonies at Memorial Park officially launch Canada's 146th Birthday, and yes, there will be food.  In addition to Sno-Cones, Cupcakes, and other great snacks there is also tons of entertainment for the whole family.

Events at the park include:

  • Live Musical Entertainment
  • Firemen Water Games
  • Firemen Smoke House
  • Fish Pond
  • Bounce Castle
  • Stoco Lake Boat Tours
  • Balloons
  • Face Painting
  • Crafts
  • Flowerama
  • & Tons of Canadian Pride

As the day winds down the fun won't be ending right away.

Fireworks are back this year at dusk over Stoco Lake!  Bring a lawn chair (and bug spray) to enjoy the spectacle put on by Tweed's Volunteer Firefighters.

Have a safe and fun long weekend!
