News & Notices
Please be advised that as of Friday August 15, 2025, due to lowering aquifer levels, the Municipality deems it necessary to restrict the use of municipal water within the Tweed Village water system.
As recommended by Quinte Conservation, this restriction allows for continued household water use but encourages residents to reduce their usage by 10%.
This includes taking shorter showers, turning the tap off to wash dishes and brush teeth, and watering plants at night and when possible, using rain barrel water to do so.
All users of the municipal water supply in the Village of Tweed are being asked to adhere to the lawn and garden watering restrictions in accordance with Municipality of Tweed By-law No. 2002-33 as follows:
Odd numbered municipal street addresses - Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between the hours of 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Even numbered municipal street addresses - Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday between the hours of 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
No Sunday watering.
This restriction ensures that the Municipality maintains its reserve of potable water, water pressure and has sufficient water in reserve to fight potential fires.

This restriction will remain in effect until further notice.
Your cooperation in conserving water is appreciated.
