Family Farm Safety Day

Stirling Fairgrounds
The Hastings Federation of Agriculture (HFA) is pleased to announce we will be hosting the inaugural “Family Farm Safety Day” on June 10, 2023 at the Stirling Fairgrounds. The event will invite children ages 4 -14 to visit stations on a range of topics including: farm equipment, lawn & garden equipment, wearing protective gear, grain bins, fire, first aid, electrical safety and more.
We envision dividing the participants up into groups based on age, and each visit at the stations lasting about 10-15 minutes. We are aiming to be finished by noon and will provide lunch before travelling home.
All farm families and 4-H members from Hastings and the surrounding counties are cordially invited to participate.
HFA is excited to launch this event with the goal of ensuring our farm families and communities have the tools they need to practice safety on the farm, especially in the summer months when life is busiest. Its vital for children to learn safety skills early on to assist them in making good decisions.
